its been a strange little while, this year has been up and down and not without little issues
most of my blogging have been via PING.FM which updates all my Social media , which people who know me say is boring because in alll my feeds its the same thing, then simple knock me off them, unfollow etc
so what has been going on
Prodigy were great, Pendulum mad and really worked up the crowd, Enter Shikari worked really hard but spent too much time talking about circles and stuff but i know Lucy loved them, infact she was moshing to the last three bands i only got it going on for Prodigy, infact so much that some guy next to me had the cheek to point out he felt old in the crowd at 39 and i looked older and was still going for it, cheeky sod, part of me was glad i was not being a complete idiot and it was nice to be noticed but talk about back handed compliments.
so we got to Milton Keynes and were onsite from about 3pm and left at about 11-11:30 – Lucy found me as i tried not to be posesive dad and keep her under my wing which had been a habbit of mine but the girl is a young woman now so longer leash and ” DAD your embarassing ” was not said but ” You see why i dont want to be with you – you scare people” was said, and all i was doing was standing in a crowd of people with my shades, baseball cap, leather on ( with a few days growth well i was being a bit of an animal for Toughguy ) and my arms folded , she said this in response to some guy who was pushing through the crowd and stopped cold dead when he got in front of me, and to be honest he did look… worried, shaken. Lucy said i was safe and he was not to worry , then he said something along the lines of ” i was just going back through the crowd to my mates did not expect to bump into the Terminator” yeah my ego was massaged by that point, then another group of lads wanted high fives off me , this is the point Lucy slipped away to have her own fun without her personal Terminator standing guard.
it took us ages to get out of the carpark, then to drive up to North hampton to a travellodge then head up to toughguy in the morning
we got to the hotel for about 01:00 and i set the alarm for 7am
we left at 8 and made it to Toughguy to register and start the race just as the cannons went off
Toughguy is one of those events
that i rave about
because there is so much to it
the atmosphere is brilliant, everyone is cheerfull and helpful joking and mucking in
the run is to be fair Lucys Least favourite part , i know she would prefer to forgo the run and just do several laps of the assault course until she could not do it anymore
we finished after about 3+ hours and what can i say credit to her she got her medal and we went home
well rather she slept in the car like a baby and i drove for 3hrs+ more
we got home for about 6:30pm Sun after leaving the house at around 10am Sat what a weekend
but i am paying for it now
all that sweating and jumping around at the gig
not a lot of sleep and motorway / festival food
then Toughguy which always knocks your system for six – its the dirty mud and water that you cant help but .. whats the nice word for it squirting into every orifice
ingest – thats it
so now i have a bit of a chesty cough and the sniffles but it was all worth it to have a great weekend with Lucy me and her just doing Stoopid things
Music loud, big lashings of sillyness and some quality time together
next thing to do is the mens health challenge in Oct
have not even paid up for it yet ..
oh and i am loving my INDOBOARD see here
i can juggle clubs while on it and have even managed a good few squats
till next time
